1. How did you get the name Cecile Dubois and why did you change to Maia Lazar?
When I started writing on Luke Ford's website, my mother was concerned I was a bit young and was afraid that industry people may get wrong ideas about me. When I turned sixteen, I felt I was mature enough to come out with my real name, which sounded better anyways. I came up with Cecile Dubois by combining Cecil Adams and Henry Pene Dubois.

2. Why did you start blogging?
My mother's friends were pioneers in the blogosphere and it sounded really cool. Plus, I didn't like the idea of a diary being unread. I learned the hard way the pitfalls of journalism, but writing and getting feedback is so much more rewarding than shelving away your records.
